I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Education and spend my time training teachers, but work very hard to keep my teaching and tutoring skills 'current'. I have been tutoring for over 15 years now, and have had many successes in supporting students through exams and assessments. I am also an AQA examiner for A level Physics.
I have a wealth of teaching experience, including high schools, colleges, boarding schools, FE institutions, and universities. Although I am an A level Physics specialist, I have also taught Maths and Computing up to A level, and have a wealth of experience in the IT sector. The youngest class I have ever taught were 9 years old and my oldest student was 65, but I'm willing to teach older or younger if you like!
Tutoring with me involves three phases; introduction and diagnostic assessment, a didactic and traditional approach to sharing information, then assessments to monitor progress. This can be shared as a report where appropriate. All sessions not only cover content but also include exam skills and curriculum-dependent tips and tricks. I am also able to assist with university applications and writing personal statements.
