I am a Charted Chemical Engineer with 40 year experience in the chemical industry. I earned my degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Surrey in 1978. I have three adult children, two of them graduated from universities. The oldest one has an engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and continue to pursuit a PhD course. The younger one has a science degree in Physic and the youngest one is reading Mechanical Engineering.
I coached all my three children from primary school age, encourage them to take the 11+ exam and revised with them for their GCSE exam. All of them earned A and A* grade in their GCSE subjects.
All work I coached young engineers and nurtured them to obtain the engineering Charter-ship status. I also go to local secondary school to help and guide year 11 students to choose their career paths, either for further education or apprenticeship as school leavers.
I have experience in GCSE exam boards of AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL.
Patient, patient and patient is my motto. Couple with encouragement and understand the hidden talent inside a child can draw out the best from them. Every child is different… they have their own speed and way in absorbing knowledge. Teaching in fun ways can help them to want to learn more. Showing them that you care about them strengthen the bond between the tutor and the child. Praise them and reward them even when there is only a tiny improvement can boost them their confidence.
