See above. Was a full time lecturer for 16 years with PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training (from Huddersfield University) Currently works as a part time lecturer (16-18 Business Studies) and adult education tutor (Welsh second language)

Tutoring Approach

In the first instance I always ascertain what the learner's preferred style is and interests and will then plan teaching activities based on that. I will have an initial meeting with the learner and his/her parents (if appropriate) to discuss such matters and then draw up a plan for that with agreed objectives. We will then agree to review progress on these objectives at regular intervals. If the learner's goals are to pass examinations the emphasis will be on practicing exam questions and giving the learner's activities around that. We will go through such questions both together and set the learner homework tasks based on this and then review them together at the subsequent session.
