My name is Rhiann McLean. I have a masters in English Literature from the University of Glasgow. I come from a long line of teachers, and have been offering relaxed tutoring sessions for fellow students for years. I spent many of my schooling years overseas in Brazil and Malaysia, where i picked up languages such as Portuguese, Spanish and French. I recieved my qualifications in the IB (a program equivalent to highers), where I specialized in English, History and my languages. I have a Masters degree in English (both language and literature) alongside Public Policy from Glasgow University. I work in training now, working with adults and children using a variety of learning approaches.
I have reached in schools with children under 12, as well as regularly train young adults and adults. I have been working as a tutor for 6 years, and none of my pupils has ever failed.
I recognize that the children who require tutoring may be struggling, and my first couple of sessions focus on where those issues lie, and how they can be circumvented or changed. I stay in touch with parents, letting them know what activities can be done at home to help the process. Children relate to me because i'm younger, and i'd like to think that they will be more at ease with me, allowing me to discuss openly what issues are stopping them moving forward. However, i also have a strict set of timed goals that need to be met, and expect any children to put in the effort.
Each child works differently, so I tailor my approach to your child and their goals.
