Personal Description:

I am a Mathematics Teacher in a secondary school and I have a genuine passion for Mathematics. I would love to share my knowledge and I am happy to teach maths on a one to one basis. I completed my A-levels in 2010 and I achieved A* in Mathematics. In 2014 I graduated with a First Class BSc Degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London. In summer 2015 I completed my Teacher Training (PGCE) Course and I gained Qualified Teacher Status. I am an enthusiastic, reliable and hard working person as well as kind and friendly. My main ability is to explain maths clearly and to make it very easy for everyone to understand.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching Mathematics to GCSE and A-Level students since 2010. I have worked in 6 different schools over the last 6 years. While studying for my degree, I worked in a school in London for three years as a maths tutor for Secondary and A-Level Mathematics students. I was also involved with the Student Associate Scheme (SAS) in a different secondary school in London where I worked as a teaching assistant, helping primary and secondary school pupils with their Mathematics. Furthermore, I worked in two other secondary schools while I was completing my Teacher Training Course in London. In September 2015 I started to work as a maths teacher in Slough. I then moved to Birmingham and now I work in a new secondary school.

Tutoring Approach:

The above experiences have given me the opportunities to help and support students on a one-to-one basis, in small and in large groups. These experiences also aided me to improve self-confidence in communicating with 11-18 year olds. Tutoring and working in classrooms, ranging from students in year seven to A-Level, has increased my awareness of equal opportunities legislation and have enabled me to understand how to treat all students with equal respect; also to be sensitive with regards to gender, age, disability, and religion. In terms of my ultimate ambition, I will always enjoy tutoring and teaching Mathematics on a one to one basis. I have access to a lot of teaching recourses and I always make sure my students understand the concepts for every topic by practising a lot of exam-style questions from past papers.
