I have a degree in Music and a PGCE, from Edinburgh University. I have been teaching music privately and in schools for more than 7 years, to a wide variety of pupils. As a professional musician I perform regularly in and around Edinburgh at venues such as the Usher Hall, Edinburgh Playhouse and Festival Theatre.
I have extensive experience of teaching music in secondary, primary and special needs schools and I have been tutoring Piano, Voice and Music Theory privately for 4 years.
I have taught pupils at intermediate (standard grade) and higher level and have experience of working within the new Curriculum for Excellence guidelines. I have had a number of pupils successfully achieve ABRSM examinations at a variety of levels. I have also taught a number of choirs, both for children and adults.
Aiming to make learning music enjoyable for those wanting to progress up the exam system or as a hobby. I believe that learning should be fun and challenging. Every pupil is individual and I aim to tailor my teaching to suit each pupils differing needs and learning styles.
