I am a mature lady with one grown up son. I am teaching students who are in alternative settings, on a 1 to 1 basis. I also work as a supply teacher within the Primary sector. I consider myself to be patient, kind and considerate.
I am a mature lady with experience in Primary teaching and tutoring of pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2. I have previous experience of tutoring Primary pupils and preparing them for entrance exams for senior school.
I have also tutored with Kip McGrath, based at the centre.
I have taught in a variety of educational environments both in the UK and abroad. I have also had the privilege of looking after children in a boarding capacity within an international school. This has given me greater understanding and insight in to the emotional needs of students, especially as they had been separated from parents. This impacted my approach to teaching and learning.
I consider myself to be creative in my approach to teaching and learning, always planning with the individual needs of the student in mind. Each student is an individual and has a preferred learning style. This is taken into consideration when I plan and deliver teaching.
I work in a relaxed, positive, encouraging environment, involving the student in the learning process, encouraging participation through questions, feedback, research, and other resources as needed for the individual.
Time is given for learning. The sessions are not rushed but students are challenged in their learning to help motivate and reach goals.
Does your child lack confidence or are they struggling with Literacy and Numeracy? Do they have special needs? I have experience in these areas.
