This is how 2 referees rated Rebecca:
I have an MA from Cambridge University, then worked in the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust's Education Department for 18 years before moving to Scotland. I am married with two teenage children. I read widely and go to the theatre as much as I can.
In my 18 years at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, I organized and taught on a number of courses focussing on Shakespeare and related drama and other literature. I worked with the RSC and with various British and international universities. Since moving to Scotland I have taught in the Continuing Education programmes of the universities of St Andrews and Dundee. For the last 10 years I have given private tuition to home schooled teenagers, to Higher and Advanced Higher pupils of local schools and to university students.
My tutoring style is straightforward, friendly and encouraging. My aim is always to explain clearly our objective and equip the pupil with thorough understanding of the texts in such a way that they are well placed to do their very best in the examination. Essay plans, quotation selections and exam techniques are among my central tools of teaching.
