I deem myself to be an experienced, knowledgeable and competent individual within the teaching profession, as illustrated by my qualifications and experience.
On a personal level, I am highly motivational in character and possess the ability to inspire students to prosper. I have high expectations of all of my tutees and work extremely hard to ensure they are able to reach their maximum potential, and progress within their studies.
Since becoming a qualified teacher, I have worked within the Independent sector teaching A' Level Business Studies and A' Level Economics; achieving exceptional exam results on both programmes. I feel this has been achieved not only by delivering the content material but the high caliber of exam technique coaching that I have provided to my tutees.
I am aware of the various exam board requirements and have experience teaching OCR, AQA, and EDEXCEL syllabuses.
My experience has given me exposure to a wealth of scenarios, including the opportunity to work with children who have educational needs. This has enhanced my capability to work with Dyslexic, Dyspraxic, NVLD, ADHD and Autistic students, and provided me with the expertise to differentiate my teaching methods in accordance with the various learning styles and needs of each individual.
I pride myself upon my incredibly versatile approach to tutoring and appreciate that every student has different strengths and weaknesses. I facilitate my tutoring with a wealth of resources including text books, interactive resources, real life case studies, past exam papers, sample answers and mark schemes. These resources not only provide variety, but also promote further enjoyment of the subject .
I believe confidence and self esteem to be key catalysts in raising educational attainment; so I am dedicated to promoting an ethos of continuous recognition of achievement and praise to boost morale.
I am aware that parents play a key part in educational development, therefore I am committed to keeping parents well informed of their children's progress during their tutoring sessions whether it be celebrating achievement or notifying them of areas that need further development; this will take the form of a summary chat at the end of each session where we can review targets and set objectives for future lessons.
I am a formative marking practitioner, meaning that I will provide constructive development points on how to improve a piece of work either relating to content knowledge or analytical and evaluative technique as opposed to just providing a mark/ or grade. I have found this to be extremely crucial in raising attainment.
