Edmonton Tutor

Hello! My name is Rahma, and I'm currently a final year History undergraduate student at King's College London.

Other than having a passion of discovering new historical facts, I also have a huge passion in helping others with their academic work. I am academically strong in the subjects that I'm offering to tutor, as I did Religious Studies, History and English Literature at A-Level, so will therefore have a detailed understanding of what each subject requires in terms of it's approach and understanding.

If you want further information regarding my services, the subjects I'm offering to tutor or avaliability, feel free to contact me!

Tutoring Experience

I have previous experience in tutoring students at school either in groups or a one-to-one basis, so I'm comfortable in teaching both ways.

I've also held some revision sessions for various age groups, so my experience isn't restricted to just GCSE and A-Level students. I therefore have confidence in teaching a wide range of students from various academic backgrounds.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring style goes beyond re-iterating the facts being taught in the classroom and simply 're-wording' the teacher's lesson. Firstly, I tailor my style to the student's needs, so my utmost priority is to tutor particular topics that the student is finding difficult to understand. Also, a student achieving their full potential is also given due importance, so I work with student carefully and give them advice on how to achieve a higher mark/grade to what they are currently attaining.

My approach also involves working through worked examples (for instance: graded essays, sample exam answers) to supplement the course the student is taking.

The first session is always an 'introductory' session, in which I assess the student's strengths and weaknesses, and create a plan for each week as to which skills should be focused on. I always listen to the student's concerns about their academic work, and these will always be addressed within the lessons itself. Therefore, all sessions will focus on what the student wants, and on occasion may set some extra work (not a lot!) in order for the student to enhance their skills and understanding. I understand that everyone works at their own pace, so I'm very flexible with this.
