I am an enthusiastic teacher who is always looking for new, creative ways to teach. I am currently trying ideas with new technology to keep my students engaged as well as allowing them to learn for themselves.
I love teaching as each day brings something new and I love it when my students teach me new things as well.
I like to think I am friendly and approachable and tailor my teaching to my students needs.
The best feeling in the world is when my students have that moment of realisation and can discuss with me in detail the topic we are looking at because they 'get it!'
I am in my sixth year of teaching and have been working abroad for the last 3 years. I am returning to the UK in June. I have worked in schools for the past 9 years developing key skills in order to aid learning. My primary experience is in preparing students for GCSE and A-level exams as well as key assessments for KS3. However I also have tutoring experience with primary students.
I also have experience of working in primary schools using arts and media to progress learning, facilitating workshops in literacy using creative methods.
I have experience of tutoring a wide range of students from primary age right through to GCSE.
I will tailor each tutoring session to the tutees needs, starting with an assessment session in order to understand what the student would benefit from in order to succeed.
I like to keep sessions practical so that the student can find the information for themselves with a little bit of guidance and really feel like they have achieved something at the end of it. I will create resources as required in order to keep the student engaged and ensure that they make rapid progress in their sessions.
