This is how 2 referees rated Rachel:
As a fully qualified, experienced primary school teacher, I have always demonstrated high quality teaching which enables my pupils to make good progress. I am currently teaching a Year 5 class although I have experience of teaching across both Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 as well. I am passionate about teaching and I strive to make learning fun, meaningful and relevant so that children understand the purpose of the skills that they are being taught. Above all, my fundamental aim is to increase my pupils’ self-confidence and provide them with the skills necessary to become active and independent learners.
I have spent the last 7 years teaching a range of ages and abilities, differentiating and tailoring my lessons to meet the individual requirements of each member of my class. I have an excellent knowledge of the new national curriculum and have a wide variety of resources available to use for tutoring.
Upon initial contact I will arrange a meeting with both yourself and your child in order for us to discuss your child’s needs and what you are both hoping to achieve from our sessions. This is also an opportunity for us all to get to know each other and to ensure your child will know exactly what to expect in each tutoring session; hopefully putting their mind at ease if they were feeling at all unsure about anything. Following on from that, I will then create an individual plan tailored to your child’s specific requirements and targets which can be related to those given at school. Throughout the tutoring I will be continually assessing progress and will ensure this is regularly discussed with both your child and yourself.
I am available for tutoring on weekday evenings and during school holidays.
