Personal Description:

I am friendly, easy-going and adaptable and looking to tutor in the North-West London area. I currently work for UCL conducting research into Breast Cancer. I have a MSc (Medical Science) from the University of Glasgow with straight Distinctions across all modules, achieving the top marks in the country for my subject (Human Nutrition). I also have a BSc in Physiology, A levels in Biology, Psychology, English Literature and General Studies. At GCSE level I acheived straight A's and A*'s from Clifton High School in Bristol, where I studied under a 70,000 scholarship.

Tutoring Experience:

I am looking to widen my teaching experience. Both my parents are teachers (Mum - secondary level Biology and general studies, Father - primary KS2) and have always encouraged me to help my younger brothers through their GCSE's and A levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I will work the with the tutee to determine the key areas that they would like to work on and would benefit most from. We would work at their own un-pressured pace and make sure an area is truly understood before moving on. I am friendly and adaptable to the pupil's needs. As far as exams go, I am from the year in school that they seemed to introduce all new forms of exams (SATS, AS levels… ) so you could say I am a bit of an expert in exam-taking! Preparing for and performance in exams is a skill that can be quite separate from the pleasure of learning a subject freely but I am happy to teach this skill, and hopefully make this enjoyable. In exam preparation I will make sure that key points are established and skills are applied so that the tutee feels confident and reaches full potential.
