I graduated with honours, the first-place award in Foreign Langauge Instruction in my University. After that, I studied at Columbia University in the City of New York for my Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages certificate. I then came to London to do my master in Langauge and Cultural Diversity at King's College, London. Now I am a marketing professional who still loves teaching!
I have extensive teaching experience in both English and Mandarin. In Taiwan, I have taught English for four years; my target students ranged from kindergarten to adult learners. While I was studying my certificate in New York, I taught Chinese mainly to the elementary-level students at Columbia Saturday School. I like to create fun lessons for my learners.
I usually conduct my lessons through topic-based teaching method. However, I like to work with my tutee first analyzing his/her needs and objective of learning the language. Then based on the learning goals, I create tailor-made lesson plans for the student. I am also comfortable with using textbooks or other materials to assist students' learning.
