Personal Description:

Having left Bristol University with a first class degree in Film, Theatre and Television, I went on to become a professional actress and have been lucky to work in some fantastic places such as at The National, Royal Court, Young Vic, London's West End and on Broadway in New York. I also work as a script writer and am currently working on a commission for BBC radio 4. At present, I am Dramaturg for a emerging company based in Wales and am directing their first solo piece which tours early 2015. Although I studied single honours Drama, I have always had a great love for English literature and have been accepted onto Goldsmiths MA in Radio next year, which involves a high content of literary output, analysis, journalism and fiction.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught drama on an ad hoc basis to a wide range of age groups. Teaching drama can simply be for fun, for boosting creativity or for gaining those desperately sought after places into drama school. For older pupils, I co-teach classes at the London Film School on script writing, character development and approaches to acting. My experience as a script writer/developer has given me enormous experience working with individuals on textual analysis and development and again this is something I am confident with using for all age groups. I have also taught English as a foreign language to pupils in a school in India. Finally, aside from being great fun, my experience of child minding over the years has given me the confidence to know how to share knowledge with younger children, keep them enthused and hopefully inspired!

Tutoring Approach:

I believe teaching can and should be fun and a good teacher is someone who inspires creative thought that continues to develop outside of the lesson time. I have the skills to encourage pupils to stretch themselves whilst never making them feel under pressure. Patience and good humour is of the upmost importance and effective learning can only be achieved when the tutee is able to feel confident and relaxed. I love teaching and hopefully those I teach can find the experience as rewarding as I do!
