Information About Philip - Tarporley tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Philip:
Since graduating with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Music I have gathered a wealth of experience from working performing, composing and teaching across the North-West.
I am an experienced woodwind player and performed across the UK and Europe in various bands of different styles from Reggae bands to Big bands. This has involved sight-reading, improvising and performing as a solo instrument and as part of a horn section. With my composition experience I have written compositions for adverts and Amateur film productions ranging from the styles of Classical to Jazz and Rock.
From 2010 I have been teaching all levels and ages from basic beginners to Grade 8 students in styles from Classical to Jazz & Pop. I am also freelancing as a contractor with different Music Services delivering First Access class lessons in Primary Schools across Cheshire.
Having taught students over the years aged 7 to 65 with a mixed range of abilities has afforded me a great range of experience and has been fantastic in aiding my direction as a tutor. During my career my numerous musical experiences in a variety of styles and the necessity to teach a wide range of abilities have provided me with the skill and flexibility to tailor lessons to the individual needs of my students.
Overall the most important part of teaching for me is to show students how amazing music can be and how enjoyable playing is. To that end every single student will experience a personally tailored fun, efficient and exciting lesson!
