I am composition graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I was awarded the Edmund Rubbra prize for achieving the highest mark for my final composition portfolio. My past schools include: Wells Cathedral School and the Purcell School where I studied composition, trumpet and piano.
As a professional I have composed music for artists and events such as the BBC Singers, Milton Keynes Symphony Orchestra, EXAUDI, and the Musikkunstwerk project. My music has been performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, St Martins in the Fields, Cadogan Hall, Milton Court, David Josefowitz Recital Hall and the Saatchi Gallery.
I have worked on the award-winning Purcell School of Music's 'Outreach' program. This involves leading and giving creative workshops at schools around the country. These workshops have given me plenty of experience at teaching pupils of any age and ability. Please see the attached website for more information (http://www.purcell-school.org/impulse.html).
Recently, I have been involved with teaching on the Go Compose! music courses. Go Compose! is a national initiative that aims to provide opportunities for secondary-aged young composers who have tried composing and want to learn more run by the fantastic organisation Sound and Music
I have had a steadily growing, happy group of private students.
I approach each student as an individual depending on previous experience and current level, I consider my primary and most important task as a teacher to inspire and stretch my students but also help them enjoy the amazing phenomenon that is music.
