Personal Description:

I am 28 years old and I work in the Biomedical Cell Biology department at Warwick Medical school in the lab of Prof Andrew McAinsh. Here, our primary research focus is investigating the mechanics of chromosome movement during cell division. I am able to work evening and weekends, and to travel if necessary. I have a relaxed but dedicated attitude, and enjoy mountain biking, skydiving and cooking in my spare time.

Tutoring Experience:

I began tutoring in 2010, teaching extra-curricular science classes to primary school children aged 5-10 within Coventry schools. From here it took a bit of a jump, and during my undergraduate degree I took part in open day demonstrations and taster classes for prospective students in the biology department of Warwick University. After completing this degree in 2012, and moving on to my M.Sc and later Ph.D, my tutoring was focused on undergraduate biology/biomedicine students, guiding them through both theoretical and practical classes. In addition to face-to-face tutoring, I have also published a review article aimed at students in higher education, where I describe several aspects of cell division. (**Web Address Removed**).
Over the past 2 years however, my main tutoring focus has been A-level sciences, teaching students from both year groups. I am pleased to say that all of these students achieved an A grade.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student has his or her optimal way of learning, and I will tailor my teaching to match. I aim to create a relaxed environment and encourage discussion surrounding the subject to ensure a complete understanding of the discipline. Nevertheless, my teaching is results driven, and can be focused on specific areas of difficulty.
