I am a physics graduate from the University of Birmingham. I recently graduated with a first class masters degree, showing my aptitude for physics and maths. Given that my A-levels and GCSE's have been quite recent I still retain a good knowledge of the syllabus.
I have given private tutoring sessions in both A-level Physics and A-level maths in the past with good feedback from the students. I also have 6 weeks experience teaching english to all age students in a school in Brazil. On top of this I would sat throughout my physics degree teaching skills have been very important and I have improved on them whilst helping fellow classmates with problem sheets and also enhanced my teaching and communication skills giving presentations.
I always seek to tailor my style of tutoring to the student to suit their needs. In the first session I will try to go through all of the aspects of the course the student feels least confident on, and which material would be best to cover in order to supplement lessons. I believe with physics and maths teaching, problem solving skills and exam technique is vital for the student to attain a deeper understanding of the subject and improve their grades so I focus a lot on this and particularly encourage students to bring in difficult problems to go through.
