This is how 2 referees rated Peter:
I have recently submitted a PhD in Classics and teach for the Classics department at the University of Nottingham. I am happy to tutor in English, Ancient History, and any area of Classics at secondary and degree level. As well as helping students through their qualifications, I specialise in helping them to prepare for higher education.
As a part of Nottingham's Widening Participation programme, I have personal experience of the University admission process. I can use this knowledge to help to guide older students through the admissions process. I can help them stand their best chance of securing a place at their chosen institution through help with personal statements and interview preparation.
I have taught ancient history, ancient literature, and ancient Greek language to small groups at the University of Nottingham for the last four years. I am currently employed as a teaching associate for the department of Classics at the same University.
I am a young and enthusiastic teacher who is able to make the serious task of education enjoyable for students. Dedication to learning is aided by a passion and joy for the subject. I believe all tutoring needs to start with the student, and the student's needs, rather than from a pre-determined programme of study. I am also keen to help students with specific learning difficulties, who might not receive the level of support they need in the schooling, further or higher education systems.
