I enjoy maths and working with numbers, I aim to be able to pass on this enjoyment to pupils, I love showing the fun side of maths and demonstrating to pupils that a problem isn’t just a set of terrifying numbers.
I have been tutoring from home for over 9 years, in that time I have come across a variety of age groups and standards. Most of my tutoring is preparing students for Common Entrance and GCSE exams but as parents recognise the need for good grades in Maths I am taking more pupils on at a younger age. I cover all essential topics at Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 including preparing pupils for 11+, 13+ and GCSE exams.
I also teach adult learners, who may be struggling with a maths exam on a higher education course, wishing to retake a maths GCSE or struggling with numerical reasoning in the workplace
Working on a one to one level allows me to tailor each individual lesson to each individual’s needs and thus improve results. By building confidence and learning to comprehend the basic building blocks of the subject I hope we can make everything more understandable and achievable. I find benefit in concentrating effort on specific areas to build pupils self-confidence and understanding. For regular students, study plans, homework, ongoing mini tests and exam preparation are all part of the learning package. I enjoy teaching all standards whether it is fine tuning to achieve an A* or helping a pupil who is really struggling with everything.
