I am a second year Maths and Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Oxford.
Before I came here, I studied at the best high school for Mathematics in Bulgaria and won over fifty gold, silver and bronze medals at international and national Maths competitions, including the International Mathematics Olympiad. I was also a jury at three international tournaments for young mathematicians aged 12-19.
I am quite friendly and easily approachable. I never give up no matter how hard the task and always strive to achieve the best results possible.
During my last three years in high school, I started tutoring younger students in Maths and helping my peers in their preparation for exams such as SAT, A-levels and Oxbridge entrance exams.
I have also given lectures at Math camps under the guidance of Bulgarian professors which has improved my abilities to present all kinds of mathematical topics.
Having recently been a school student, I am quite familiar with the difficulties one may have with the curriculum. Hence, I can quickly identify mistakes and suggest various methods to solve a problem so that the students can decide for themselves which is the easiest to understand and remember.
I am patient and encouraging, allowing students to work at their desired pace and reach conclusions on their own. This develops their analytical and logical skills and is useful for their future progress.
Furthermore, I would be happy to set some questions for homework or check any work the student my request and than discuss it in the next meeting. If a student is enthusiastic about Maths, I would be thrilled to work with them on harder and more interesting problems.
