Hello, I am a tutor available for a range of subjects and age groups. I am a very experienced teacher across the key stages but as well as teaching I have up to date experience of examining for GCSE and A level History so know what examiners are looking for. I am available in the evenings and at weekends to help students achieve their full potential be this History, Religious Studies/Philosophy/ or Government and Politics.
I am also sometimes available during week days and would gladly help students who for whatever reason cannot attend school and may be taking their exams as private entrants.
I have nearly 20 years of teaching experience, some of which has included teaching abroad and has involved both state and private schools.
I successfully led a history department for many years and could also support students if they were following the IGCSE History course.
I am familiar with a range of topics and the skills required for particular questions.
As well as the above I have had extensive experience of private tutoring also.
I am extremely flexible with my approach and would use the first session to assess the needs of the individual tutee which I would not charge for.
In addition my first lesson will be half the stated price by way of introduction.
I take a student centred approach in terms of finding out how they learn more effectively and will maintain this dialogue. Furthermore I make use of past paper questions and possible exam questions that may be presented in order to build confidence, these are returned regularly to the student with detailed comments on where improvements are needed.
I encourage honesty at all times.
