I presently work as a Maths supply teacher for Choice Teachers and Edstaff covering a large number of high schools in the Leigh, Lowton, Bolton, Wigan and St. Helens areas.
Previous to this, I was a fulltime Maths teacher at Up Holland High School teaching years 7,8,9,10 and 11, from KS3 to GCSE. I always aim to teach in an enjoyable and engaging manner. I feel that it is valuable to have a warm and pleasant manner with my pupils in order to create the best learning environment and to make the learning process enjoyable, effective and rewarding. I have three children of my own that I am helping through SATS and GCSE preparation.

Tutoring is a most valuable form of teaching as it gives invaluable personal learning time to the pupil that is very difficult to get in the classroom. Initially I discuss what the pupil and parents would like to get out of the tutoring sessions. Typically this is preparing for SATs or GCSEs, catching up on missed work, helping with homework, improving grades, identifying gaps in knowledge, gaining confidence, helping to keep up with work or to move up to a higher set. I then provide a personalised programme of study. My goal is for the pupil to value, enjoy and feel the benefit of the tutoring sessions.
