I am an experienced teacher having taught for over 10 years in a number of institutions across the UK. I had a short career as an archaeologist before realising my passion lay in education. I completed my PGCE at Oxford Brookes University, taught in Nottingham, then London and currently Buckinghamshire. I am always trying to develop my teaching skills and hold qualifications in Philosophy for Children and Penn Resilience. My main attributes have always been around my student centred approach to education, understand, support and teach the whole child, building positive relationships where learning is fun, exciting and creative.
Secondary school teacher with 10 years experience. Breadth of experience teaching to all key stages and across a range of subjects. I also have pastoral experience as a Head of Year and have run a number of mentoring and revision technique programmes. I have a love for sport and the arts and have a good sense of humour. With my tutoring you will receive not only excellent subject specific support and coaching but a broad depth of knowledge and experience as well as innovative and creative approaches to studying to cater to all abilities.
I offer a broad skills set and depth of experience. My approach is to understand the learning habits, strengths and weaknesses of the student in front of me, establish clear goals and targets and encourage self-confidence and independence. I am able to draw upon a wide catalogue of resources for a range of abilities and needs and I'm always willing to try new techniques and approaches to engage students and drive a love of learning.
