This is how 2 referees rated Gajan:
My teaching philosophy revolves around working smarter while working hard. I am patient, easy going and enjoy working hard with my students.
I have Masters Degree MSc (Eng) second Class with Honours and BSc(Hons) in Mathamatics with an excellent academic record throughout.
After I graduated with my MSc and completed my Certificate in Education course I opted for a career as a full time teacher in further education. I taught maths upto 11, 11+, GCSE level and A level.
My experience of teaching has shown me that the most effective approach is to tailor each lesson for the individual student. My first objective in meeting with a new student is to find out what it is he or she wants or is required to learn and how he or she can most easily and effectively learn it. My style of teaching is patient and sympathetic, yet also academically rigorous. I will work at the pace of the student & enjoy taking a student centred approach to teaching.
I have general teaching experience of tutoring people with a wide range of differing abilities, from those having particular needs, through to those with a talent for the subject.
The number & frequency of lessons required is decided by the student, although I can make recommendations. Generally, it soon becomes very clear to both the tutor & student whether personal tuition is the best way forward. If the private lessons are in addition to mainstream education then my aim is to complement rather than replace the tuition currently being received…
My approach is individual for every student. I always start from a chat with parents followed by my own assessment during feedback at the end of the first session. I always inform parents of the lesson targets and homework given. I also make them aware if homework is not completed/ no progress is made, this allows a joint solution to the problem Full email support given
