Personal Description:

I have been tutoring students of all ages for over 8 years, ALL of which have improved in both their grades and confidence in this subject. I am driven to give my all to anyone that requires my help.

I have a very strong academic and social background which has taught me how to work with people of difference ages, backgrounds and abilities. Furthermore this has enabled me to easily adapt to their methods of learning for them exceed their own targets.

My many years of experience of working with children, youths and adults coupled with my passion for the subject holds me in good stead to tutor any student.

Tutoring Experience:

At University, I explored Mathematics at a deeper level and I enjoyed analysing and extracting information which produced answers to modern day problems. My strong belief in teamwork and work as an individual has resulted in frequent praise for my good interpersonal skills, the ability to inspire others and my innovative approach to problem solving.
My past experience is that of working at Sidney Stringer Academy as a SEN Mathematics Teacher and Kumon Education Centre as an education assistant where I taught, assessed, monitored and worked with children from the age of 5 to 18 years of age. Working there gave me the skills to understand each students individual way of learning and that it is very important that I adapt my approaches to best help them learn more efficiently not only to achieve but exceed in their studies.
Being a lead member of a youth group since 2005 where one of the key responsibilities was to guide youths throughout their education has given me thorough insight into understanding, communicating and working with students as well as parents to a high level.

Last year I had 5 students sit their GCSEs, all of which exceeded their target grades, 3 of which achieved A*, 1 student went from a D to a B grade and another student went from B grade to A grade.

Tutoring Approach:

From experience, I have learnt that a efficient and vital way to learn is through understand the students way of learning and adapting my teaching accordingly, using past papers and efficient methods of questioning to engage the student in thinking about the subject.

Asking the students the right questions according to their ability can engage them with the subject and get them to think more. Practicing past papers can assist students greatly in knowing how to answer questions in a suitable manner to ensure they do not miss any marks.
