I am a well-motivated, approachable, realistic and enthusiastic individual who is committed to the welfare and well being of all individuals in my care. The academic progress along side increased confidence and enjoyment are my priorities for my pupils.
As a well qualified and widely experienced tutor I am able to offer individual and group lessons for primary aged pupils in all areas. I have considerable experience teaching children with learning difficulties. I graduated in German from the University of Warwick Having spent a year at a grammar school in Berlin teaching English I was convinced that teaching was for me and consequently undertook a PGCE at Oxford Polytechnic in Primary and Middle Education ages 3 – 13 specialising in maths. I have since continued my education with a post graduate diploma in advanced studies in education from Liverpool University where I specialised in English and maths. I was awarded a certificate in ICT from the University of Southampton. My most recent qualification is the National Senco Award which I gained in 2012 from Edgehill University.
I have taught pupils of all ages from 4 to 70! I have taught EFL to children and teenagers, German to both children and adults up to GCSE. However, my main passion and widest experience is working with primary aged children. I manage the Special needs provision in three primary schools so am well aware of the diverse needs of children. I also tutor many children for the 11+ and entrance exams to other grammar schools such as St Anselm's and Upton.
I tutor both individuals and small groups. Establishing a good relationship with the pupil is as important as assessing their needs in order for the tuition to be successful. A positive encouraging approach always benefits students.
