Personal Description:

I have run a successful legal practice since 2007, specialising in litigation. My area of expertise is to train and introduce new staff internally and externally to the subject of law regardless to their previous knowledge. I am constantly aware that the subject can seem overwhelming and daunting at times so my aim would always be to make the teaching seminars as accessible, interactive and pleasurable as possible whilst always monitoring the progress of the individuals.

Tutoring Experience:

Training to all grades of staff, professionals in all areas of law regardless of previous knowledge and tailored to their needs.
Taught and mentored law graduates via e-learning and was responsible for their development, assessment and
Taught GCSE, A and AS level to Tertiary students and Access Courses to adults prior to University
Countless presentations, seminars, group and individual teaching sessions following a curriculum basis.
Responsible for devising and implementing teaching, coaching approaches within organisations

Tutoring Approach:

Tutors often think that they are well qualified because they possess adequate understanding of the subject matter. Many people say that one possesses adequate knowledge of a subject when he can lecture in the subject. However, there are many other aspects to being a good tutor and having adequate knowledge in the subject will not necessarily make the tutor a good tutor.
Of course, understanding the subject matter is critical and a given to being a good tutor and each session should be planned by way of an aim, objective implementation and crucially evaluation.
However I think that simple knowledge of a subject is generally insufficient to be a good tutor. A tutor has to have a true understanding of a subject so that he can marry different ideas and piece together the jigsaw
I am of the view that a tutor must be a good evaluator of the student's performance. Often, students do not understand exactly what their problems in a course are. They often just know that they are struggling or that they are getting bad grades. A good tutor can understand what gaps and misunderstandings the student has and can provide review of these particular subject areas by way of initial assessment and cathartic intervention.
