Personal Description:

I am a resourceful law tutor with over 5 years broad experience working with students from multicultural backgrounds. I completed my PhD in Law at the University of Leicester. Together with my passion to impart, what I find most fulfilling as a teacher is that moment when I get calls from my students screaming over the phone ‘I made it; I made it, I got an ‘A’ in …!’ Nothing compares to the satisfaction that comes from the good news of my students’ outstanding success in their exams; it is the whole essence of the tutoring process. I am also proficient in alternative dispute resolution and ensuring relationship building, as some cases should not end up in court

Tutoring Experience:

I have extensive experience in supporting diverse students with learning difficulties, especially with being patient and breaking down topics to simple, clear and logical sub-topics for ease of understanding in the following areas:

• One-to-one tutorials in Land Law, Contract, Tort, Criminal, Company, Equity & Trust, EU Law, Public International Law and Human Rights Law
• Planning, writing and reviewing Essays, Dissertation and Thesis
• Preparation for Exams, revising past questions, provide support on the choice of questions bearing the marking criteria in mind.
• Online teaching, assessing essays and providing timely and constructive feedbacks
• Providing opportunities for negotiations, mediation and conciliation

I teach law at three tiers (A levels-AS/A”, undergraduate and postgraduate). My teaching experience spans across the foundation subjects such as Constitutional and Administrative law, Equity and Trust to include other core and optional courses. I am also able to support students with special needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about law and the most important thing in teaching is not just the knowledge of the subject but the ability to impart others with the knowledge. I have demonstrated this ability both in classroom teaching with logical presentation of course materials, as well as in one-to-one situation, putting the students at the centre of my teaching. I communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. I am empathetic and yet very persuasive in communication in order to foster students learning and participation.

I was privileged to have had excellent teachers during my education. This is very important as one’s enthusiasm to learn and passion for a subject can be greatly dwindled if one is unfortunate to have the ‘wrong’ teacher. With this in mind, I am very conscious of how I come across to my students, I am excellent at the use of the right language at all times and I endeavour to show sincere interest in my students’ personal development, understanding their special needs, their strengths and weaknesses, and at the same time maintaining high academic standards.

Overall, I am a compassionate, patient and engaging tutor. I love to impart young people. I maintain an inclusive learning environment and I support all my students to achieve their full potentials regardless of any special circumstances or needs.
