Maths and Physics Tutoring in Bristol

Curious and creative, with a passion for both learning and teaching. I’m a fourth-year student on Physics MSci course at the University of Bristol currently on track for a strong 1st Class degree. I have an avid interest in mathematics, logic and their applications to the world around us. Currently, I'm working on a project to develop methods for Inverse Ising Inference in complex, non-equilibrium systems such as neuron and gene regulation networks.

I am available to teach both Mathematics and Physics up to, but not including, University undergraduate level. I am based in Bristol and would be happy to travel within the city, provided it is within reasonable distance or could conduct lessons online using Zoom, Skype or other programs.

Tutoring Experience

I tutored mulitple clients in GCSE Mathematics when I was completing my A-levels and they were very happy with the results.

Used to teach guitar during my GCSE and A-level periods.

I am a fully qualified Assisstant Sailing and Watersports Instructor. I worked as an instructor in both these capacities, teaching large groups of teenagers and smaller groups of adults at Merton Sailing Club in London.

Tutoring Approach

Foremost in my educational approach is to encourage confidence and curiosity in the student. I believe that learning should be enjoyable and through this enjoyment, success will follow. The goal of my teaching is to fuel curiosity and prevent discouragement for my students when working through challenging topics. I am truly passionate about Physics and hope this passion is infused in my students via my teaching. One of my idols is Richard Feynman and I try to follow his philosophy. I believe in teaching that both parties serve to learn a lot from each other and I am excited to see the subjects I love through new people's eyes!

"We need to teach how doubt is not to be feared but welcomed. It's OK to say, "I don't know."" ~ Richard P. Feynman
