I am a PhD student at the University of Dundee and a lawyer with over ten years experience providing innovative teaching, cutting-edge research and bespoke consultancy services. I also have experience in teaching students study skills, and also examination techniques and skills. I further teach students legal research and writing skills to improve the quality of their research work. I provide pastoral care to students as well in my various teaching roles because I believe students need a mentor as well as a teacher.
I have excellent teaching experience and skills. My teaching experience span both undergraduate and postgraduate students both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. I have taught students at the undergraduate level in various areas of law including Law of Contract, Legal Methods, Constitutional Law, Labour Law and Administrative Law. I have taught postgraduates in the areas around Energy and Natural Resources Law and Policy including Oil and Gas Law, Mining and Mineral Law, Downstream Energy Law, Environmental Law, and CSR.
I adopt a very pragmatic approach to tutoring that is dependent on the tutee's needs established through early discussions. I utilise different approaches that include collaborative learning where I have a class comprising group of students. I also utilise case studies in teaching, and problem-solving approaches that gives students first hand experience of issues being discussed. I also use visuals to drive the ideas into students. However, in all I like allowing students the opportunity to express themselves more to build their confidence.
