Personal Description:

I'm a medical doctor currently on the Academic Foundation Programme at the University of Oxford. I have previously studied at King's College London, the University of Nottingham, and this year undertook a seven-week elective at University College London. I have recently relocated to the region and will be here for the next two years.

Tutoring Experience:

I've a wealth of experience tutoring different ages and abilities. I am currently teaching examination skills to both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical medical students at the University of Oxford and have previously tutored basic sciences to pre-clinical medical students.

I have experience of preparing students for high-stakes exams, university applications, and admission interviews. My students have had various successes at GCSE, AS and A-Level; many have successfully gone on to secure themselves university places, including to study medicine.

I also hold a Grade 8 piano (distinction) and studied with Prof Michael Young at the Royal Academy of Music during my undergraduate degree. I am available to teach piano and music theory.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my teaching style to the student through playing to an individual's strengths. I explain information accessibly, working from first principles to apply knowledge to common exam questions and to bring topics alive by using 'real-life' scenarios.

I take a long-term, goal-orientated approach to teaching and will work with students and parents to define realistic targets and a schedule by which these will be achieved. I am friendly and approachable and strive to impart a methodical style of thinking that can be used across subjects.
