I am a qualified Science teacher working in local schools in West Sussex since 2011. Prior to this I worked with children and young people in both education and in the wider community since 2001. I am experienced and confident teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics to a range of different levels.
I teach a variety of different abilities and have accumulated a wide range of resources and teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs. I have taught very able gifted and talented students and led enrichment programs to really challenge and stretch them. I have also taught pupils with a variety of special educational needs including visually and hearing impaired, physical impairment, ASC, dyslexia, ADHD, BESD and Downes Syndrome and have always differentiated according to their particular needs.
I have also taught science taster and enrichment sessions for junior school children.
I graduated in 2011 and am qualified to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have a very good understanding of the Science curriculum (and the changes that are currently taking place), and am experienced at teaching ISA's, exam preparation and GCSE science retakes with year 12 students. I have taught in two local schools in West Sussex and am also involved in teacher training and development.
I am an approachable, friendly, patient tutor. I have a passion for teaching Science and have a very wide range of resources to help my students progress and achieve their full potential.
I can offer paired/group tutoring at a discounted rate to make sessions more accessible. I am also available via phone and email for support during exams.
I am happy to offer fun science sessions for KS1 and KS2 children that have an interest in science, in preparation for secondary school or are getting fed up at school doing sats prep!!
