I hold a PhD, Postgraduate Certificate in Research Training, and First Class Honours Degree.

I am friendly, experienced, and understand the pressures of university study at all levels. I am also passionate about supporting students and run an academic writing business specialising in supporting students in higher education through private tuition.

I primarily teach academic English and study skills. This is a unique combination that can teach you the skills to improve your written university assignments such as essays, dissertations and MA/PhD theses.

I am also able to offer tuition in philosophy at all levels.

Tutoring Experience

I currently run a private tuition company dedicated to improving academic writing skills.

Previously, I have acted as a graduate teaching assistant in philosophy at the University of Hull.

I have also helped teach English Language, IT, and employability skills to school leavers and adults at Franklin College, Grimsby.

Tutoring Approach

I find it helps briefly getting to know each other before tuition commences. This enables me to understand your particular anxieties or difficulties surrounding your work and allows me to create a programme of study specifically tailored to your needs. It also helps to set your mind at ease and gives you the chance to ask me any questions.

As someone who has previously taught at university, I know what is required to obtain high grades and can pass this knowledge on to my tutees.
