I am an enthusiastic teacher based in SWANSEA who can do online tutoring given the current situation and who has worked in several extremely successful secondary schools in the South Wales area. I am currently Head of History in an excellent 11-18 school in the Bridgend area. My most recent results are outstanding- 100% A*-C at A Level and 47% A*-A at GCSE (all mixed ability classes). As such I am fully up to date with the most recent changes to examination specifications and am very experienced in teaching history across all key stages and abilities.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 15 years experience in teaching history in two successful 11-18 comprehensive schools. I currently teach across all abilities and key stages. I am also an examiner at GCSE and A Level for several examination boards, thus am fully aware of exam requirements and techniques needed to succeed. My results since I began teaching in 2001 have been outstanding at all key stages. For example, I regularly achieve 100% A*-C at A Level with cohorts of over 30 pupils.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor my sessions to the individual in order to maximise achievement. I like to ensure focus on examination technique as well as content. I always try to develop discussion within my sessions and encourage students to explain their views and draw conclusions.
