I am a 57-year-old mathematics graduate, living near Frodsham & working full-time in the chemical industry. I am married with two children in their twenties, both of whom have now left home. I find the tuition of maths a fresh & interesting challenge away from my usual work & I believe that, because of this, my enthusiasm for the subject is transmitted to my students.
I have been tutoring, one-to-one, for 12 years & have also spent time working with small groups of students in a local comprehensive school in the run-up to national exams. I have worked with students of ages ranging from 10 years to 18 years & have also worked with adults on the mathematics units of their university degrees.
During the time I have been tutoring, I have received many cards & e-mails commenting, almost invariably, on my patience. I appreciate that meeting a tutor & starting to work one-to-one may be daunting for some students, especially if they are not confident with the subject. With this in mind, I try to encourage a relaxed informality from the outset, with occasional reminders, if necessary, of why I'm there! I realize that each student is an individual & try to deliver what they (& their parents) want from the sessions. I welcome parents' involvement & will address any particular concerns that they have.

We are very happy with the tuition so far. James looks forward to your sessions, and his confidence in Maths is growing daily, as result of your help… Many thanks
I planned to apply for my PGCE but needed a C in Maths GCSE before I could even apply. I booked an equivalancey test at Edge Hill Uni allowing my self just 6 weeks to learn as much as possible in time for the exam.
With the help of Nick I passed with 87% and can now apply for my PGCE. I would highly recommend Nick, he was very reliable and prompt in his responses by texts or emails to arrange sessions. He was very patient and explained things in a way I could understand.
I last sat my exam over ten years ago… three times! Each time I got a D, so this was a major acheivement for me, and without Nick I dont think I would have acheived this. At first I thought I was takng on too much, but with hard work and help from Nick I got it!
He also tutored my step-brother who re-sat his Maths and he also passed. If you want a reliable, friendly, patient tutor to help acheive your desired Maths grade, contact Nick :)
