I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor with a great academic and employment record (see below). I've always had an interest in learning new things and in turn have enjoyed teaching things to others. My experience in teaching is diverse and includes maths, drumming and chinese tuition.
As a self-employed freelancer, I am very flexible with times and can offer day, evening and weekend bookings. I can either travel to the student's home for tuition or host the lessons myself.
Having worked for 4 years in the engineering industry (with Jaguar Land Rover) with an academic background in Aerospace Engineering, I am able to assist with maths and science subjects. I focus on improving the student's level of confidence as well as getting them to understand the core fundamentals. I also help the student with revision strategy and exam technique. I teach GCSE's on a regular basis and have helped students get admitted to high profile schools.
Whether you are a beginner or intermediate, I have a wealth of advice and tips to help you along in your drumming pursuit.
I have over 15 years experience as a drummer, having played a broad range of styles with different bands, including jazz, rock, punk, funk, dnb, hip-hop and metal. My aim is not only to maximise the educational value for you as a student, but to make you a more independent and well rounded drummer.
Learning Chinese can be an immense challenge. As someone who has had a Chinese/English upbringing, I am uniquely positioned to give the most relevant advice for Native English speakers that wish to learn Chinese. Aside from this, I have studied Mandarin for 5 years, with 3 years of University courses, having achieved top marks consistently. I have taught English in China previously and have deep insights into Chinese history and culture.

I like to approach students by first getting to know what it is they want to achieve. From here, I will assess the student's ability in that subject and help them develop a strategy for success. I am just as focused on motivating and improving the confidence of students as well as making sure they gain a core understanding of the subject matter. I provide homework where I feel the student needs practice in certain areas.
My aim is to help the student develop the intuition and confidence to achieve their goals. I emphasise that this does also require commitment by the student to make it happen.
