Personal Description:

I'm a professional violin/viola player recently graduated from the Royal College of Music with a degree in Bachelor of Music(Honours) where I studied on a full scholarship awarded to me by the Worshipful Company of Musicians. I regularly perform solo, chamber music and in various orchestras and part take in international music festivals. Notable venues I have played in include Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Draper's Hall, St James' Piccadilly.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a violin, viola and music theory teacher. I received training by some of London's best music professors as part of the Professional Skills module at the Royal College of Music. The qualification I obtained allowed me to have a place in the RCM's Teaching Service where I gained experience in classroom teaching as well as private teaching on all ages and levels. I am fluent and able to give lessons in English, French and Turkish.

Tutoring Approach:

The process of perfecting a craft can be very enjoyable and boost one's confidence. This is why I have a fairly technical approach to teaching the violin, viola and music theory; I believe that the sooner the fundamental obstacles are dealt with the quicker and more enjoyable it becomes for students to learn new music.

With one small technical fix added each lesson (i.e left hand position, bowing techniques or, in the case of music theory, learning different rhythms) the pupil has a chance to make rapid progress and have a grasp on their instrument or aural skills without feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information.

I believe in tailoring lessons according to each persons needs, interests and availability so that music can be incorporated into their everyday life efficiently. However, parents looking to enter their children in ABRSM exams or youth orchestras should be aware that without dedicating time to practice on a regular basis high grades will not be possible to achieve.

Whatever you are looking to gain out of private music lessons - weather it's playing the violin as a hobby, preparing for exams or specialist music school entries, music college/orchestra auditions or if you are just looking to learn more about how to read and write music - I will endeavour to help you achieve your goals. I am confident that you will begin to see results in a very short amount of time.
