Having successfully completed my A-level study at Lady Margaret School in Fulham, I am currently studying History at Royal Holloway,University of London ranked in the Top 10 Universities for History nationally.
Furthermore, outside of academia, I strive to enhance my interest in History by understanding its applications across several industries. I also have an avid interest in Psychology. I have gained experience of Clinical Psychology through being competitively selected for work at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Here, shadowing surgeons in Cardiology, Paediatrics and Intensive Care. This gave me a proficient understanding of how long term referral into hospitals can affect a patient’s emotional and psychological well-being. Additionally, I undertook the role of Co-ordinator at a community based Summer Camp for 5 to 14 year olds. I organised activities across a fortnightly period. Here, helping children to overcome social barriers between each other and engage in team building and mentally stimulating activities.
Finally, alongside these aspects, I have been practising Karate for two years and have subsequently been one of the fastest club members to achieve a brown belt, in this short time period.
I am firm believer that in order to excel academically; confidence, focus and discipline are a major component and this comes about from a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
From past experience I know I can provide a positive, engaging and supportive atmosphere for students of a variety of ages and abilities. My completion of the Sport Leaders National Award involved the organisation of activities which would appeal to young children. This experience led me to realise an important element of working with children is building a rapport with a child enabling them to reach their full potential in a motivating and positive atmosphere. Most recently I have worked in a special educational needs department of a Primary School with a dyslexic child partaking in both mentoring and tutoring.
I have also had experience working in a tuition centre (Explore Learning, Hampton), whereby I tutored students from ages 5-14 years old in Maths, English and 11+ entrance exams. My training for this position has enabled me to understand the core methods used in our national curriculum in teaching and how each student has a different learning style, and the importance of building a rapport with the student which encourages the child to achieve more.
My patient and positive approach to tutoring has enabled me to tutor a wide spectrum of students. I have a real skill in motivating and mentoring students of all ages. I believe the self-satisfaction that one receives from helping a student to overcome their fears when it comes to a certain subject or activity is highly rewarding and interesting. My approach entails helping the student build their confidence thus, encouraging them to meet their own personal goals. Through previous experience I have taken an active role in bridging the gap between the parents and students even if this means ensuring a significant time is spent ensuring the parent is aware of the students’ progress and the goals needed to be achieved.

I can confirm that Navdeep was employed by our family during the summer of 2011 as a Tutor for our sons (aged 9 and 6). Her specific responsibilities involved developing the eldest son's literacy and knowledge of mathematics for year 4.
During this time Navdeep was conscientious and reliable towards her responsibilities. She showed great patience and maturity in engaging and motivating our sons towards academics over the summer. During the summer Navdeep was able to achieve an improvement in our son's literacy and mathematical abilities. We have no hesitation on recommending Navdeep for any similar role.

It was really great to have Navdeep as a tutor for my daughter. Since my daughter had a slight learning difficulty she needed a tutor who was patient and kind. Navdeep was absolutely brilliant, very polite, trustworthy, reliable and took special care to improve my daughter's learning ability.

Navdeep has been a superb A level History tutor to my son over the past six months.
He has found her teaching to be stimulating and encouraging and he has looked forward to each lesson. She is passionate about her subject and I would highly recommend her.
My son was delighted to achieve an 'A' in history. I doubt this would have been possible without Navdeep.
Mara Cornell, Teddington , 2016
I asked Navdeep to be my tutor for History late into the academic year, regardless of this she helped me exceed my predicted grade in History which I would have not been able to achieve without her. Navdeep’s help with not only teaching and recall of subject content but also help with essay practise, structure and all the feedback she gave me on essays I wrote for her, gave me so much confidence for my exam. She also provided resources for me which I was able to use on my own after the lessons to aid my own revision which were a constant help. Navdeep is extremely patient and caring and I would highly recommend her as a tutor.

Navdeep has been tutoring my son for GCSE English since September. She is highly organised, professional and very reliable. She has had a significant impact on his self organisation, revision and writing skills. This has led to a continuing improvement in his grades.
Hazel, Whitton, 2018
After just two months of Navdeep's tutoring, my daughter has increased a whole level in both her English language and literature. She is getting compliments from her teacher whereas before there was concern. Areas of the course needed to be covered more thoroughly and other areas just needed a bit more explanation which Navdeep has given in a clear and encouraging way. My daughter has a new confidence to look forward and plan which is evident with her revision. Navdeep's advice on technique and helpful resources, along with her structured teaching means my daughter no longer feels worried going into her GCSE exam in May.

Navdeep has been an excellent tutor, I would highly recommend her. She supported my nephew in a way that was patient, considered and caring. I saw a great improvement in his confidence in English. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her as a committed and caring tutor.
