I am a 2016 graduate of the University of Manchester and hold a 2:1 LLB, currently living in Bury St Edmunds. I have worked at a law firm for over a year and I will be a trainee solicitor starting 2019. Furthermore, I am currently undertaking a Masters in Legal Practice (LLM) in Cambridge.
I am an ideal tutor as I not only have a recent legal qualification from a reputable university but I am experienced in essay-writing and politics (which compiled a part of my degree). Furthermore, as I have experience in a law firm I am able to provide more value to students who wish to pursue the law as a career.
I have been contacted by recent legal graduates in the past as well to prepare them for training contract interviews. I have had interviews at Magic Circle firms and regional firms and have a wealth of experience in preparing for competitive legal interviews and assessment days.
More recently I have been contacted for help with essay writing, at A level and university level for English, law and politics. I am happy to organise online and in person essay tuition and/or just proof and edit your essays.
I have experience in tutoring GCSE English, University-level Law and Interview Preparation. I have edited and developed essays for numerous students.
I have developed study skills throughout my law degree which I can easily pass on to other students including sample essay questions from past exams, examples of papers, and lists of cases which I used during my degree. I think the best way to learn how to a) pass a test and b) do well, is from a student who has achieved both of those recently.
My approach to tutoring would be reactive to what the student would like to learn. I am comfortable discussing all disciplines and have study materials across all the fundamentals of a law degree; tort, contract, criminal, EU, constitutional law, administrative law, property, land and legal methods and systems. I currently work in a litigious department using tort and contract daily.
If the student could send a copy of their assignment and/or essay questions, outline of the course or just highlight which area they wish to learn broadly I will prepare an hour-long session which will compile both parts teaching and participation from the student. Participation is key, I prefer sessions where it is more of a conversation with the student rather than a lecture from me.
I have a copy of all my work from my degree so I am able to provide study materials dependant on the course subject. I am happy to review and mark essays.
