My name is Natalie, and I have been teaching English for eight years. I have a BA degree in English and an MA degree in Applied Linguistics with TESOL. I also have the Cambridge teaching qualifications Celta, and modules 1 and 3 so far of the Delta. I have just returned from Beijing where I was Head of Language and Learning for a chain of British international schools. Prior to this, I worked as an EAP lecturer at several top UK universities. I have successfully taught English Literature (GCSE and A level) for the majority of my career alongside academic international English, helping students to achieve excellent results in their exams. I am also an examiner for both ESL and English Language and Literature A levels.
For the past two years I have worked as Head of Language and Learning for a well known chain of British international schools in China. Prior to this I have worked as an EAP lecturer at university level, and headed a school International department, in charge of both the teaching in-house training and curriculum design for students of all ages. I have been lucky to teach students from over 26 different countries, and enjoy sharing cultures and experiences. I have prepared students over the past eight years for Cambridge exams, as well as extensive experience teaching for IELTS.
Additionally, I have taught English Literature, helping students to produce excellent results in their exams.
I have vast experience tutoring on a 1-to-1 basis, and I love to get to know how each individual student best learns.
Alongside my teaching career, I also work as a linguist. This enables me to see language as a 'code', and find creative and fun ways to adapt materials to the different learning styles of the students. As I have much experience in curriculum and syllabus design, I always ensure that the best materials are adapted and created for each student according to their needs.
I am contactable between tutorials, and am always quick to provide thorough feedback and help as needed. Most of all, I have a genuine love of teaching, and an interest in helping you see progress quickly.
