I am an experienced teacher of A Level English, having worked in sixth form education for the past ten years. I have a proven track record of helping students of all abilities achieve results above and beyond expectations. I strongly believe in an approach that is tailored to the individual to help them achieve the best possible outcomes.
I believe in open and shared learning goals, with clear success criteria where errors are welcomed and lots of feedback given. I aim to give lessons which provide opportunities for creativity, challenge, clear structure and most of all empathetic support. I carefully consider how a pupil learns best and use this to guide my teaching methods, forms of assessment and teaching materials.
I've been a qualified teacher for over 13 years, having spent the last 10 years working solely in the sixth form sector. I'm currently Assistant Head of Department and Head of Literature. I teach English Language A Level and English Literature A Level. I have also had a number of years experience teaching English Combined A Level.
Friendly, supportive, well structured and focused on your goals.
