I am an IT professional working for British Telecom and currently reside in Reading, UK. I have three children, two who have completed their higher education and the youngest who is in his final year at University. I work from home, which gives me time to dedicate to helping children get through entrance exams particularly 11+ exams. In addition, I am an Arsenal supporter and enjoy playing football with my son and nephews. I also enjoy travelling and the outdoors.
In addition to getting my three children through University, I have coached primary school children and prepared them for the 11+exams. I have been teaching for over 20 years up to degree level, however my expertise lies in primary education and preparation for entry level exams. I have been a school governor and and stay up to date with the different exam boards and their syllabus'.
My approach to teaching varies according to the needs of the student. I find it useful to discuss topics with the student and gain an understanding of their weak and strong points. After understanding a topic, the focus is on practicing exam techniques and exam questions. My students find it useful when I break things down in small sections and explain them in simple words.
