A mechanical engineer by qualification and working with Jaguar Landrover Ltd. I attained my qualification in 2009 from Queen Mary university of London with majors in Engineering maths, Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics, Vibrations and Controls systems, and design and Manufacturing. My A level subjects were Maths, Physics, and AS level Computing. I have a strong background when it comes to Maths and Physics as these have been the necessity for my core modules. I am a very flexible person when it comes to teaching lessons and have a very accommodating nature. I like to share my work experience when it comes to prospective graduates giving them an insight as to how it works in a working environment.
I strive to work hard and this will be very evident during my tuition lessons. Students tend to do a lot more questions in my sessions and this is how private lessons are beneficial. In my opinion this is where a student takes absolute advantage of the private lesson by asking questions which is most likely not possible during a school session.
Within the coming years, admissions into top class universities is going to get competitive and the only way you can succeed is by getting into a good grades.
Saying that I aim to cater my lessons on a students learning capability. It can be slow paced, it could be fast paced, depends on how quickly the student learns.
I have over 6 years of tutoring experience. Teaching is my passion and with I do it with an intent of making a difference in a student's approach to a particular method. In the past I have been conduction group sessions with students and one to one private lessons depending on the needs of the student. My experience mainly lies in teaching maths and Physics however recently I have been more inclined to take on maths students for GCSEs (new curriculum) and A Levels (AQA, OCR, OCR MEI, Edexcel). Currently I am working and mentoring graduate engineers at my workplace and part of my job is also to assess the progression and development of these engineers.
I base my lessons mostly on concept clearing, practising mock papers and revising regularly on past exam question papers. I believe there is no easy route to success and that practise makes a man perfect and which is why I regularly strive on concept clearing first and then working on revision questions as much as possible. I mainly work on a topic basis with lots of examples included. My lessons are mostly 2hrs and this includes working out practise questions. My approach is to answer as many question you can on a particular topic until the concept becomes clear, I am very open to questions being asked and would always give a task to be completed back at home once a tuition lesson is completed. To check the progress of a student I carry out mock tests using previous exam papers.
