I attended Queens Park Community School and went on to achieve what was the best GCSE results in the school's history (9 A*s and 2As). This enabled me to obtain a Scholarship to attend the City of London School for sixth form, where I studied A-levels: Mathematics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Economics (A), Physics (B) and AS English Literature (A). Finally I completed my undergraduate studies in BSc Mathematics and Economics at the London School of Economics. I played for the LSE football team in right mid-field position; our team went through to the London league final.
I have been tutoring Mathematics for 4 years, at all levels. I have helped all of my students to make drastic improvements in their grades. One GCSE Maths student I tutored successfully jumped from a C grade to an A grade in just 2 months. I have worked as a Supply Teacher at the West London Free School and as a Maths Mentor/Tutor at Swanlea Secondary School, tutoring students of all ages up to sixth-form.
Many students, parents and staff have complimented my work. My gentle yet firm approach to tutoring has helped me to develop a strong rapport with my students, which is crucial for effective learning. I initially assess the student to find out where the weaknesses lie and construct a plan to improve understanding in these areas and build on it, making the connections between topics. I incorporate quizzing and quick tests into my lessons to ensure accurate recall and retention.
