I am a Grammar School teacher with over 12 years experience, teaching GCSE and A level Physics. The results I achieve are consistently excellent.
I have also been a very successful tutor during this time, moving students from grades D, E or U to grades A, B & C. As well as this I’ve also been a part time examiner, marking GCSE and A level Physics papers.
The methods I use are simple but profound - identify the key misconceptions and areas of weakness then use my experience and subject knowledge to tailor a specific, personalised tutoring programme in order to meet the target grade.
'Hi sir, just wanted to say I appreciate everything you did through the years at BS. Ended up with an A* and honestly don't think that would have happened without your teaching. Cheers for the help, wish you the best.
'Thanks to the interest in physics I harbour from your lessons I've just been offered a PhD place for Quantum chemistry at Brazil's top university for physics.
Keep up the good work, I owe you an awful lot...

Identify particular areas where the student has a lack of knowledge and understanding and address these areas at the first opportunity. Typically, given enough time, I would like to go through the entire course and ensure there are no gaps in knowledge or understanding. This can be assessed a number of ways but once a solid foundation is in place the student will gain confidence and feel more in control of their progress.
