I am a passionate and friendly person, with an engaging approach to learning.
I graduated from Hertford College, Oxford in 2016, and I will start a Master's at SOAS in September. Having struggled academically at a very young age, before gaining confidence, I have first-hand experience of the importance of good teaching.
I am also currently in the process of producing a documentary and writing a script.
I have been tutoring for the past 4 years, working with a number of the top tutoring firms in London. I have recently completed my PGCE, working as a secondary school geography teacher in Inner London.
I have worked a wide range of students, spanning 8+ to 6th Form, and I have had experience working with students with SEN.
I have been successful in placing 11+ and 13+ students at Sevenoaks and University College School. I have a particular interest in building students' vocabulary and sense of independence.
Having graduated from Oxford, I have helped a handful of students with Oxbridge applications, from personal statements to interview practice.
Many of the students I have taught are afraid to make mistakes and lack confidence. A large part of my tutoring consists of increasing my student's confidence and stretching them beyond their perceived abilities.
With every new student, I conduct a diagnostic assessment and then discuss the findings with the parent. I will then create a plan in order to improve areas of difficulty.
