I'm a masters student at the University of Birmingham currently reading mathematics, and I already have a 2:1 BSc.
I'm very confident with all aspects of GCSE and A-Level mathematics (its second nature to me) and am sure I can help anyone to improve their skills in these areas.
I am also able to provide tutoring for further mathematics modules.
Worked as a teaching assistant at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury.
Have privately tutored since 2014.
Worked at a summer camp in America with children and teens.
My usual approach is to begin with learning the areas which need work/improvement, either through discussion with parent/child, or through simple practice tests/exams.
We will then devise a step by step plan tackling each area one step at a time. Where multiple arras need covering, I will always make sure to go over previous topics every so often, just to make sure they've not been forgotten.
Usually the format is demonstrate explain attempt reinforce. Where I will demonstrate an idea it topic, with examples. Explain the reasoning behind why or how it works. Get the student to attempt some problems based on the idea or topic. Finally reinforce the learning by explaining any steps they're still unsure of, or possibly linking it to further topics.
