I am currently a PhD student at Lancaster University studying Nuclear Engineering/Chemistry. I did my Masters in chemistry at the University of Manchester and also worked for a year in nuclear analytical chemistry for a year as part of the course. I have A levels in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics all at grades B or higher.
During my A levels I occasionally helped out in years 8 and 9 science classes. Other than this I have no current teaching experience.
I'm quite laid back as a person and would have a laid back approach to tutoring. To make sure the tutee was getting the most out of the tutoring I would have them identify areas in which they don't feel confident and address these areas. I find that practice is important in these areas so past papers and exercises would be used and the answers to the questions gone through. I also find that more detail helps understanding so, if needed, I would go slightly beyond the scope of the course to give a base knowledge.
